Litochoro - Dion

Mount OLYMPUS, with a height of 2,918 metres, is the highest mountain in Greece and, according to ancient myths, the dwelling place of the twelve Olympian Gods. A landscape of endless forests, gorges and peaks that rise up to the clouds, it is the first National Park of Greece, while since 1981 it has been declared a protected part of the world's biosphere by UNESCO.

At the foot of Olympus lies Dion, the sacred city of the ancient Macedonians, where Alexander the Great would visit before each of his campaigns to pay tribute, offering sacrifices to the Olympian Gods for good fortune. Today the area features an archaeological park, theatres, temples and the town of Litochoro with the lush green Enipeas gorge, giving you the chance to combine nature and history in an unforgettable experience.
